Many thousands of years ago, the Divine Mother Earth incarnated herself as Goda Devi. This Goddess eulogised the Lord through her poems which are still recited to this day. Through her example, she taught the masses how a devotee ought to be. In worship of her, a divine Abhisheka is offered every Every Poorva Phalguni (Pubba) Nakshatra day. Amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns such as Bhu Suktam, Sri Suktam, and Neela Suktam, the Goddess is bathed in sanctified water, milk, coconut water, turmeric paste, sandalwood paste, and honey. This seva bestows devotees with good health, prosperity, and success in all endeavors.
