Sri Srinivasa Kalyana Utsava
Every Sravana nakshatra day and second saturday, a Vedic wedding is conducted for Sri Srinivasa and His consorts, Sri Devi and Bhu Devi. In this ceremony, a curtain is tied between the deities, new garments are offered, and with recitation of their lineages a maha sankalpam is performed. After, the sacred wedding necklace is worshipped, a camphor Harati is offered, and with accompaniment of the auspicious mangala vadyam, the sacred wedding necklace is presented to the goddesses on behalf of the Lord. The pradhana homam and lajja homam are then performed and a saffron tilak is ceremoniously administered. The ceremony concludes with great pomp through the exchange of Flower garlands, showering of talambralu, and the offering of a Maha Naivedya.
According to the scriptures, women who perform this ceremony are blessed with wonderful spouses, lifelong fortune, and eternal auspiciousness. Those who partake in this Seva on their wedding anniversary are granted entrance to Vaikunta along with liberation from current sins and emancipation from sins committed by their future 10 generations.
